History of Dutchman's Seafood House

Paul Van Beurden and family arriving in USA from their native Netherland, 1957 Our family emigrated from The Netherlands to Fresno in 1957, Mom and Dad brought with them nine children, the family had lots of mouths to feed. That is one reasonwhy we are in the restaurant business! Mom and Dad taught us the values of a strong work ethic and the will to succeed as we helped to support the family. We startedin the restaurant business in 1964 in the Yosemite Valley, then moved here to the coast in 1968. Our Family has been part of the local restaurant scene for many years.

Our goal is to provide you with friendly service and quality home cooked meals in a relaxing family friendly atmosphere, we strive to treat every guest of Dutchman'sSeafood House as part of our family.

- Paul Van Beurden, owner/operator

This is the restaurant me and the family have been going to for about 15 years. We have been to other places around the embarcadero but this feels like home. My favorites are the clam chowder in bread bowl, fried calamari, and fish and garlic fries. Service has always been good  ...
