History of Dutchman's Seafood House

Paul Van Beurden and family arriving in USA from their native Netherland, 1957 Our family emigrated from The Netherlands to Fresno in 1957, Mom and Dad brought with them nine children, the family had lots of mouths to feed. That is one reasonwhy we are in the restaurant business! Mom and Dad taught us the values of a strong work ethic and the will to succeed as we helped to support the family. We startedin the restaurant business in 1964 in the Yosemite Valley, then moved here to the coast in 1968. Our Family has been part of the local restaurant scene for many years.

Our goal is to provide you with friendly service and quality home cooked meals in a relaxing family friendly atmosphere, we strive to treat every guest of Dutchman'sSeafood House as part of our family.

- Paul Van Beurden, owner/operator

Our visit was based off a craving for fried calamari which was pretty darn good. The best we have ever had is in Santa Barbara called The Endless Summer Cafe and this came in second to that.  We also shared fish and chips which was light and thick, but my ...

Every time I'm in Morro Bay I insist on eating at The Galley but my wife really wanted to try a different place for a change.  Dutchman's was near where I parked so we figured it was a sign.  Service was excellent, prices very reasonable, and the food was great.  ...

We enjoyed the shrimp cocktail and clam chowder very much. I like how the shrimp cocktail was actually filled with shrimp and not just ice or lettuce like some places. It's actually a good amount for an appetizer. The service was good. The only thing we didn't like we're the ...
